Another great day yesterday.
Though I estimated my carbon footprint for last year this morning at: https://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.aspx as 7 tonnes CO2 p.a. which is terrible I thought I was at 2 tonnes!. And I drove three times to the allotment yesterday and again on Monday. But hopefully by the end of this week the plastic greenhouse, etc will have been moved and I can just use my bike to maintain the plot.
Also there's loads of stuff to throw away: mypex, plastic pots, etc. so a few trips to the recycling centre are needed this week.
So I was very pleased to get my blue water barrel going yesterday and transfer more spud plants. Though my springy hose puts a lot of back pressure on the water supply.
I also planted out my carrots, onions, radish, etc which had done well in the plastic tub (which is disintegrating) and covered them with argricultural fleece in the afternoon.
Fun preparing the netting for the carrots:
At the end of the day it was really taking shape.
Will need to finish getting plants in and protected. Then move plastic greenhouse to plot.
