Moved water barrel and weeded.Planted more squashes.

Today I got to the plot late morning, had my lunch there (reading my book) and returned late afternoon.

I also gave my membership form and fee to Denis and chatted with him and his wife Diane. So should get my membership card in a few weeks. Will then be able to take allotment pictures from my 4K GPS drone.

Main tasks today were clearing weeds around water barrel and planting more squashes. As well as watering everything.

Before..

And after..

James kindly turned his car radio off when I asked him as weirdly maybe due to being downwind or the fact I was close to the ground weeding I had a thump thump of the bass which I endured for 15 mins before informing him.

I also gathered up two bags of grass cuttings from the road for mulch but haven't deployed them yet as concerned they'll promote slugs and grass seeds.

All in all a very enjoyable day. But mad hot again!

Quick trip to water plants early yesteray evening..

Early yesterday evening I cycled up just to water my plants. I luckily met Denis from the Shannon Model Aircraft Club and got an application form (as I want to legally fly my small drone to document from the air the allotments) who sadly said that a group of teenagers were setting light to things yesterday around there and both the guards and fire brigade were called. Sad that they don't realise how much damage they can cause.

My squash drill looks gran and I'll be adding more watering bottles tomorrow.

And nice look to the whole plot!

I still cannot make up my mind about the pros and cons of using cut grass as mulch. I like what my neighbour Natasha has done but I'm worried about introducing grass seeds.

OK. This has sold it for me!

Someone else on the plot has ha tonnes of pine chippings delivered lovely smell around the place but again not sure how well this acts as mulch if applied to a  plot - fine for paths though.

All looking good on the individual plot drills :)

Yesterday I cleared the sunniest area and planted some squashes

Moved my potted bushes out the way for now (will find them a permanent home near the trees once fencing complete) and cleared the sunniest spot of weeds.

Then planted some squashes!

Very hot again yesterday hitting 24 at Shannon Airport but all looking good.

Yesterday I started clearing the grass and adding tomato tables..

Cycled up in the morning and started weeding the grass from the edge of my plot.

Very warm mid-morning.

(add video)

Had a nice lunch of "cheeze" rolls (5:2 day!)
(add viedo)

And drove back in the evening with a sledgehammer to put the posts for the tomato table in.

Dropped a few things off for tomorrow..

Drove up for 30 mins early evening to drop some stuff off as I plan to cycle up tomorrow and spend the day :)

Took a 180 photo with my new phone from my plot :)

Plot looking good still :)
